Every Scar has a Story to Tell . . .

For anyone trapped in the addiction of harming yourself, sure, you'd love it if your troubling emotions would commit suicide, but they'll still be there when you get done cutting. Rather than suppress them, how about just letting them rise to the surface and get comfortable with the uncomfortable. Burying them is only a temporary solution at best. You're allowed . . . Feel Your Emotions whatever they may be.

It's easy for me to tell you to feel your emotions. Many of you won't even be able to consider that possibility, but you have to try. The alternative is to be caught in the grip of a self-harm cycle for the rest of your life in a futile attempt to hide from your feelings. Every tear, every drop of blood, every scar has a story that needs and deserves to be told. Share your story with someone.

Start your healing by asking yourself why you give others so much power. How long are you going to please others before taking care of yourself? How long are you going to watch others thriving and happy while you retreat to the confining cell of self-harm? How long are you going to give your abuser all of the power by harming yourself?

It's time to reach out and get support. Put away your self-torture tools, which I know have become your best friends, and try loving yourself for a change!

Just start talking...

Good luck, You Can Do It!
